If you have claustrophobia click away now. My first time in a float tank was in Oz which was an interesting experience. Imagine floating in salt water in pitch black in something that resembles a coffin.

This time around, I have to say I was happily surprised. There was no coffin-like box, but more like a big bathtub where you lay on your back on 12 inches of a dense Epsom salt solution. The solution is so dense that you float spontaneously, like a cork, effortlessly. The solution is warmed to skin temperature and the room is insulated against light and sound. The whole experience is to help relieve stress in an ‘oasis of peace and tranquility’ which it is, after you get over the fact that you’re naked (which they recommend) and that you’re not going to fall asleep and drown. So lay back, relax and pretend that you’re floating away……

A single float costs £45, but keep checking out Groupon as I got mine for £20.
