This could be widely argued as London’s best or worst bar, but if you are an antipodean or a lover of antipodeans…you’ll love the Walkabout. Based in Shepherds Bush (or Shebu, the more posh title), the Walkabout is an Australian, Kiwi and South African bar essentially…but if you love booze, live music and absolute chaos…this place is for you. Home to the infamous ‘Snakebite’ which consists of beer, cider and black currant – or what some refer to as ‘crazy juice’ as apparently it makes you go nuts.

I have fond memories of the Walkie as it was my local when I first moved to London. Saying this place is uninhibited is the nice way to put it. But the good thing is, even as the years go by, this place never changes. Expect sticky floors (don’t wear flip flops aka jandals or thongs), jugs of snakebite (don’t wear white as you’ll inevitably always end up with it poured on you) and even though almost a decade has gone by…the live music play list remains the same (All the Small things, Place your hands and Teenage Dirt Bag).
