Borough Market is London’s most renowned food market selling about almost everything imaginable. The present market, located on Southwark Street and Borough High Street just south of Southwark Cathedral, was first located near London Bridge and claims to have existed since the year 1014. Even with that claim to fame, it may be best known having appeared in the films Bridget Jones Diary and Harry Potter.

Come here on a Saturday afternoon starving, and eat your way around the market. You’ll find anything from chicken souvlaki, chorizo sandwiches, mulled wine, Acacia smoothies and even some Stinking Bishop cheese. You can spend hours here aimlessly roaming, sampling and eating yourself into a frenzy.

Tip:  If you’re going to take a picture, ask first, I’ve seen angry vendors throw food at offenders
