Basement Jaxx is my absolute favourite British band and one of the most amazing to see live in concert…all subjective to the reader of course. Originally formed in Brixton in ’94, Basement Jaxx is categorized as a progressive house duo, but mix in a few big mamas and their funky soul, and you’ve got something amazing.

How can you not love a band who launches their greatest hits album with a cheeky video showing the queen (via CCTV) escaping her bodyguards for a night on the streets of London, eating a kebab, getting into a cat fight and getting a lap dance from a stripper.

I’ve seen Basement Jaxx at Wembley, Brixton Academy and in Hyde Park, and every time, I’m amazed at the diversity of the crowd as you’ll see high school kids to grandmas. And when ‘Where’s your head at’ comes on…absolutely electrifying.

This video doesn’t do ‘Where’s your head at’ nearly enough justice!
