Steps away from the bustle of Oxford Street and down a side alley, is one of the best meals I’ve ever had in London. Hakkasan is well known for its multi million pound interior by French designer Christian Liaigre and its sky high prices.
Descend into a basement of modern meets Chinese decadence also described as ‘sexy’, this Micheline Star restaurant was created by Alan Yau of Wagamama fame (although he no longer owns it).
You only get the table for two hours, so sit back, take in the dimly lit atmosphere and be on the lookout for celebs..or just the posers. I wish I’d seen Lady Gaga the night she showed up in the outfit below. As for the food, I’d recommend starting with their famous Dim Sum and share all of your meals, as this was some of the best food I’ve ever had. I’m drooling thinking about it now.
A really fantastic experience even though this restaurant is extremely noisy. Definitely go at least once in your time in London but book in advance as it took us 3 months to get a reservation!
