Going for a curry on Brick Lane is a London tradition. It’s the heart of the city’s Bangladeshi community and is famous for its many curry houses. The quality of the curry varies by restaurant, I’ve heard bad stories but I’ve never come across a curry I didn’t like.
Now going to Brick Lane for a curry is also a bit of a game. With so many curry houses along the street to choose from, you’ll be harassed to come into their restaurant and offered ‘special’ deals. You’ll hear 25% off the bill, a free round of beers, but don’t settle. My best haggle was a free bottle of wine.
