Ladies, grab your tea dresses, draw on those stockings and pin up those victory rolls. Men, throw on your uniforms, your sailor suits and make your way to a wartime East End air shelter complete with sandbags, searchlights, oil lamps and military bunk beds…at the Blitz Party.
Run by the same people who host the Prohibition party, big bands play while the crowd swing dances and waltzes to the tunes of the day. Once again, this place is packed. Too packed. Trying to get a drink in this joint is like lining up for scarce rations in World War II…maybe that’s supposed to be part of the experience?
Run for Shelter at the Blitz, is a really cool way to experience London in 1940s war time. It’s brimming with revellers as they wave their Union Jacks and jitterbug the night away. Get tickets in advance as this night always sells out.
