If you’re going to celebrate Oktoberfest in London, it’s gotta be done at the Bavarian Beerhouse in East London. Having been to the real Oktoberfest in Munich – twice – I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But the Bavarian Beerhouse tries to offer an authentic German experience with the mandatory massive stein glasses that require two hands to hold, accompanied by hearty Bavarian food (sausages and pretzels) and it’s ‘Oompah-Tainment’.
Make sure you book way in advance, as you have to reserve a table for Oktoberfest. And if you’ve got it, wear your Lederhosen or Drindl. Then let the night begin of copious amounts of beer, dancing on your table, doing the Chicken Dance, singing ‘Heyyyy baby, oooh ahhh’ and not remembering much of it the next day. Prost!
