Bel Canto is probably the most fun you can have with your unsuspecting boyfriend (or maybe not) by telling him to meet you at Lancaster Gate for dinner, quickly leading him through the door of the restaurant, order your meal and just as your about to eat, your waiter stops and belts out an opera tune.

Most of your waiters are opera students from the Guildhall School of Music or unemployed singers trying to make their big break in the West End. You get to experience this up and coming talent sing solos, duets or quartets from Don Giovanni’s, Tosca, La Boheme, Carmen  accompanied by a professional pianist every 15 minutes while literally dining onstage.

Dinner was decent, the entertainment was fantastic, the look on my surprised boyfriend’s face = priceless.

Tip: I had always wanted to come here an luckily I found a deal on Groupon with a prix fixe menu (two or three courses), so keep your eyes peeled.
