The event generally known as ‘The Boat Race‘ is a rowing race in London between the Oxford University Boat Club and the Cambridge University Boat Club held every spring on the River Thames. The first race was in 1829 and has been held annually with the exception of the two world wars. An estimated quarter of a million people watch the race live from the banks of the Thames winding 4 miles from Putney to Mortlake which makes for a wicked time. Get there at noon, bring your own booze and party the day away.
