The Ice Bar London, or as its also known ‘Below Zero’, is the UK’s only permanent bar where the walls, bar, tables and even your own personal glass are made from ice imported from Northern Sweden. Every year, artists and ice designers carve a new theme using chisels and chainsaws. Who wouldn’t want to sit in a freezer and experience -5°C for 45 minutes? I’ve done it 4 times.
Before entering the bar, you’re given thermal hooded cloaks with matching gloves and head straight to the bar for your free vodka drink before the queue starts. And I have to say I looove the drinks, girly, fruity, vodka cocktails. As your glass is made of ice, people have the tendency to lick and suck their glass like a popsicle. Look around, if it weren’t so damn cold it might be slightly erotic.
Most people don’t make it the entire 40 minutes, but for £16 I milk it for all I can.
